Completed Projects

FPV adopted all median islands (except island 2 which was previously adopted by Marcia Basalla) and now pays for regular maintenance of our adopted islands by an approved landscape contractor.

FPV Island Adoptions

FPV funded the reconstruction of the Gazebo in island 1 in full collaboration with the City of Novato. Our contractor reconstructed the Gazebo with new cedar trim and a new fire-resistant roof. The finishing touch was the new sign announcing Pacheco Valle as our special place.

Entry Gazebo

The entrance to your Valle was dark in the day due to overgrowth of the native Sycamore trees. At night, the sycamores obscured the city streetlights, keeping our entry dark. FPV contracted with Bartlett Tree Service to trim the sycamores. Now sunlight fills our entry, the restored Gazebo is visible and streetlights shine more brightly at night.

Tree Trimming

The unused newspaper rack near Ocusun was an eyesore. After gaining approvals, the FPV contractor removed the newspaper rack for recycling.

Of the 9 benches located throughout the valley, FPV worked with Marin County Open Space to replace their 3 benches. Strict ADA regulations for wheelchairs required placing the benches next to the pedestrian sidewalk. The one arm design is a ADA requirement.

New deer resistant pollinator plants were installed with drip irrigation. Upon our request the Novato Fire District cleared a lot of flammable vegetation to the left of the gazebo. The native plants on the embankment to the right were trimmed and manicured.

New landscaping for island 1

Most of the oleander was removed and remaining trimmed to 2 feet high to improve safety and visibility of vehicle traffic. Two new pistache trees were added. Deer resistant pollinator plants and drip irrigation were added.

New landscaping for island 4

The split rail fence along the entrance to the tennis court road was repaired. The chainlink fence at the corner of Alameda del Prado and Clay Ct was replaced with split rail fencing and the landscape was manicured.
